About this policy
This policy explains how FinThread handles your information when you use our app and services. By using FinThread, you agree to the practices described here. It applies to borrowers, channel partners and website visitors.
Information we collect
- Identity & contact: name, phone, email, date of birth, gender.
- Financial & employment: income, obligations, employment type, loan requirements.
- Documents: address proof, income proof and other documents you upload for an application. We do not collect or store PAN or Aadhaar; identity KYC is carried out by the lender.
- Usage & device: app activity, device type, IP address, and diagnostics.
- Location: only when you share it to check serviceability or auto-fill an address.
- Communications: messages and call records with our support team.
How we use your information
- Check eligibility, estimate EMIs and show approval odds.
- Process and progress your loan application with lenders.
- Provide support and keep you updated on your application.
- Prevent fraud, secure the platform and meet legal and RBI obligations.
- Improve our products, with data aggregated or de-identified where possible.
Consent
We collect and process your information based on the consent you give when you use a feature or submit an application. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us; note that some services may not work without the information they require.
How we share information
We share your information only as needed to provide the service:
- Lenders and financial institutions you choose to apply to.
- Channel partners assisting your application, on a need-to-know basis.
- Service providers (e.g. KYC, cloud, communications) under confidentiality obligations.
- Regulators, courts or authorities where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, regulatory and audit requirements, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
Data security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring) to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you of material incidents as required by law.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may:
- Access and review the information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion, or withdraw your consent.
- Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer.
